Compare bars, coins and jewellery on the same basis

A smaller ticket price can conceal a higher cost per unit of gold. Put each candidate in one table with total payable, fine grams, all-in AED per fine gram, current net buyback and any holding cost. The purpose is to make the economic exposure visible alongside the reason you want the object.
A hypothetical 20-gram bar at 999.9 fineness contains 19.998 fine grams. A hypothetical 22-carat chain weighing 20 metal grams contains about 18.333 fine grams under the 22/24 convention. Neither figure sets its retail price. The chain may carry a design and workmanship value; the bar may carry fabrication, packaging and distribution charges. Use documented assay values when supplied and exclude non-metal weight before applying fineness.
For a coin, record whether the seller is quoting gross weight or stated fine gold content. Also distinguish bullion value from any collectible premium. A collector may reasonably pay for rarity, provenance or condition, while a dealer purchasing only for metal may assign little value to those features. The relevant comparison is between actual product-specific offers, not a promise that the entire premium will be recovered.
Check divisibility against your likely exit. Selling one of several smaller pieces may leave the rest untouched, but their combined acquisition premium can differ from that of a larger bar. Ask prospective buyers which refiners, denominations and conditions they accept. An invoice, matching identification and appropriate hallmark or certification help establish what is being offered; they do not guarantee every future buyer’s acceptance. Compare tax treatment on the specific products and transaction. A high-purity object should not automatically be classified as zero-rated investment bullion without the form condition and supplier’s supporting treatment.
